No creative project exists in a vacuum, most certainly not this one. My inspiration has come from a variety of sources which I'm going to list below. This list will probably grow over time as new things inspire parts of this hobby, so it should at no time be considered complete.

My favourite translation of the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Myths from Mesopotamia: Creation, the Flood, Gilgamesh, and Others by Stephanie Dalley
A selection of translated Mesopotmanian myths, with a less interpretive and more scholarly tone than Mitchell's version of Gilgamesh.
